Canal Road is wide and pedestrians proceeding along Plymouth Road have to cross it with no assistance, while traffic turns across them. Worth investigating benefits of an island.
The "virtual" pavement is unsafe. A stand alone pavement is required, separated from the road which is often completely blocked by lorries.

Create an all weather surface for a footpath from the gate to St Davids Road round the front of the Golf Club to Down Road. At present pedestrians have to walk on mud in wet weather or on the road at a corner.
